Our Award Winning programs in Wyoming and Colorado are based on local place based education. Our center in Pagosa Springs is a wonderful place to bring your students, or our Community Naturalist Program will bring the nature center to you!  Educators, use one of our Educator Resources to help supplement your program. Or have us host one of our Teacher Trainings, PTSB and University Credit is offered year round!  Audubon Education was developed on the model of reaching out to rural communities to provide placed based, standard aligned, outdoor conservation education focused on the Rocky Mountains diverse birds and wildlife. It is an approach that seeks to draw out the vital connections between people and the natural world within their communities.  It is a way to encourage our young people to get to know and care for the place in which they live.

Through hands-on education activities focused on the Rocky Mountains and it's the sagebrush ecosystem, both in the classroom and in nature, the education program will create opportunities for children and their families to enjoy learning about local wildlife and habitats. Audubon’s educators promote conservation and healthy minds and bodies through the concept of enjoying the outdoors through wildlife and bird-watching, exploring and studying the creatures that live in the sagebrush, local streams and vegetation.
