James Creek was hit hard in the 2013 flood, and this is a project to restore those severe impacts. With Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, we will be planting numerous species of container stock as well as wetland plugs using hand tools. Boulder County and the Lefthand Watershed Oversight Group, in collaboration with the James Creek Watershed Initiative and the Town of Jamestown, have developed stream restoration designs for James and Little James Creeks. Funding for the designs was provided by a Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Relief planning grant through the Colorado Watershed Resilience Planning Grant Program to complete the stream restoration 30% design.
Work is currently underway on this project as part of the James Canyon Flood Recovery Project. Join WRV in replanting vegetation and restoring James Creek!
