Habitat Hero Senior Coordinator (Fort Collins, Colorado)

The Habitat Hero senior coordinator is responsible for increasing community-based stewardship and urban conservation through community building and outreach. They will do this through a successful community outreach, specifically with local municipalities as well as Audubon Rockies’ community science programs. The Senior Coordinator will help Audubon continue fostering partnerships with community groups within the urban geographies of the Audubon Rockies territory (i.e. the Front Range of Colorado and Wyoming as well as Salt Lake City, Utah). The Habitat Hero senior coordinator will translate Audubon’s conservation message by developing and/or coordinating a variety of outreach programs that reach local communities, municipalities, classrooms, family and adult audiences, and carry out citizen science opportunities. Snowy Plover Monitoring Project Community Recreational Use Intern, Audubon Rockies (Great Salt Lake, Utah)

The Snowy Plover Monitoring Project Community Recreational Use Intern will establish and implement dual survey protocols for human recreational use on and near Snowy Plover habitat on the south shore of Great Salt Lake. this internship is an excellent introduction to research that is intended to drive the co-creation of conservation actions by science and the community. Interns will gain invaluable experience from interactive communications with diverse community members, conducting research in the field, and honing data management skills that will help prepare them for advanced degrees and future employment. Summer Banding and Outreach Tech, Audubon Rockies (Casper, Wyoming)

The Wyoming Naturalist banding and outreach tech position combines community-based research and an opportunity to conduct basic conservation biology and environmental education. Two major activities are involved: (1) assisting outreach staff at the Audubon Rockies with educational programming and (2) conducting bird banding/outreach activities in public and private lands throughout Wyoming and Colorado. Transmission Initiative Senior Manager, National Audubon Society (Remote)

The senior manager of Audubon's Transmission Initiative in the western United States will be part of a team implementing Audubon’s Transmission Initiative through federal, state, grid operator, and local renewable energy planning processes, siting and permitting policies, and priority transmission projects. The emphasis of this work will be on the Non-CAISO, Intermountain West: Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. By leading engagement with transmission developers, relevant electric grid decision-makers, advocates, and stakeholders working to modernize and expand the Western interconnection, the senior manager will represent Audubon’s transmission interests in the region. Tracy Aviary is offering a four month field technician position that will provide on-the-ground experience in avian conservation science, with a focus on three of the Aviary’s research projects. Tracy Aviary’s Conservation Science Program helps conserve birds and their habitats through community science. Spend two and a half months coordinating a monitoring project on the Arapahoe-Roosevelt National Forest in Colorado! All fieldwork will be conducted with appropriate federal permits. Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is seeking one crew leader who will steer a small team of three technicians to conduct Spotted Owl surveys.
