In the heart of North America, deep in the sagebrush sea lives Burrowing Owl named Rockie. As an ambassador for this beautiful and vital yet under-appreciated landscape, she represents the diversity of life found in the sagebrush steppe. Audubon Rockies' Community Naturalists created two educational books about this character for kids, parents, and educators looking to learn more about America's largest ecosystem and the wildlife that call it home.

In the first book, Rockie's Sagebrush Adventures, Rockie explores her home and the other species of wildlife that share it with her. In the second, Rockie's Migration Adventures, she guides us on her migration from Wyoming to Mexico, stopping to meet amazing wildlife and habitats along the way. Both books are available digitally for free and in print for purchase. Wyoming educators can order print copies for free thanks to the Shirley Basin Sage-Grouse Working Group.
