Help us plant our largest Habitat Hero demonstration garden yet at Jack’s Solar Garden! Volunteers of all ages are invited to help us plant 1,800 native plants for this unique project. Planting will occur on both May 30 and 31. Volunteers can attend either or both.
Jack’s Solar Garden aims to convert a hayfield into a solar farm that also grows food and is surrounded by a native plant buffer. To make it happen, we need volunteers to spend the day planting the native buffer.
Jack’s Solar Garden will educate the next generation through regular school tours under our solar panels. Farmers, government officials, and the public will be invited to tour the premises to help disseminate the possibilities that solar energy offers to our society.
Parking on site will be very limited. We recommend carpooling to this event from Front Range Community College – Boulder campus approximately one mile away at 2190 Miller Dr. Longmont, CO 80504.
