How many species can you spot in four days? Wyoming Statewide BioBlitz is the time to find out! From July 19-22, nature lovers across Wyoming will be exploring outdoor areas—from backyards and city parks to national parks, public lands, and more—to observe as many plant and animal species as possible and record them using iNaturalist. Observations submitted during Statewide Wyoming BioBlitz will provide data for real-world studies that inform conservation science, helping to protect Wyoming’s birds, wildlife, plants, and other natural resources. Plus, getting outside and spotting new species is a fun, exciting way to contribute to conservation!

Join from anywhere in Wyoming, any time throughout the event for as long as you’d like! You can also join one of these events hosted by our partners at Wyoming State Parks. Registration for these events is not required:

Plant Identification and Invasive Species Pull
Sinks Canyon State Park near Lander, Wyoming
Friday, July 19, at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm MT 
Celebrate the bounty of botany at Sink's Canyon State Park with a plant identification walk and help minimize the negative impacts of invasive species with a plant pull. 

Raptor Program with Black Hills Raptor Center
Keyhole State Park's Tatanka Campground near Moorcroft, Wyoming
Saturday, July 20, at 7:00 pm MT
Join Keyhole State Park Staff and the Black Hills Raptor Center to learn about some awesome birds of prey up close! Learn about the unique features of different raptors from Black Hills Raptor Center and how to use the Raptor ID app to identify them. All ages are welcome!

Tech in the Park
Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park's pollinator garden near Casper, Wyoming
Sunday, July 21, at 9:00 am - 10:30 am. 
Become a citizen scientist by using the iNaturalist app! Participate in a ranger-led talk and walk where the ranger will guide you through the app's features. Then, enjoy a half-mile walk on a paved sidewalk to see the app in action. Please download the app prior to attending.
