Volunteer to help us plant native plants in pre-set designs around solar panels on Art Griffith's land!  Art is a local Johnstown landowner who has decided to allow solar power to be drawn from his panels for the local community's use and benefit.  Cloudbreak Energy Partners is managing the design and installation of the solar panels.  Volunteers will learn about planting techniques and the benefits of native plants with the help of staff from Chickadee Pine Designs and Audubon Rockies.

The bird-friendly garden at Griffith's Solar provides habitat for birds and other wildlife, connects the community to nature, reduces carbon emissions, and provides a model for other green industry leaders.

Volunteers will be unpotting native plants, digging holes, and planting the plants at various garden plots near solar panels. Volunteers from the previous day will have already set the potted plants at each plot in a specific arrangement designed by Chickadee Pine Designs.

Volunteers should bring a refillable water bottle, sun protection, appropriate layered clothing, snacks, and a sack lunch if you have any specific dietary restrictions.

Register here through Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.
Directions to the project site will be provided after registering.
