Meet Moe: Nature Journaler

Moe helps others enjoy nature by slowing down and noticing the details.

Moe has a message for you: You don’t need to go far to find natural beauty. Even the dandelions below your feet have interesting features and uses. We’re surrounded by the wonders of nature all the time, but we often forget to notice it. To change that, Moe does nature journaling.

Sketching plants or animals forces to you to appreciate countless details that you’ve never noticed. Give it a try; you’ll be surprised how beautiful a simple leaf can be. Moe takes it a step further and volunteers to teach others how to nature journal.

One program that’s helped her do so is the Wyoming Naturalist Program. She completed it in 2022 and it helped her learn more about Wyoming’s nature and connect with other nature lovers.

When you think of ways to help nature, nature journaling may not come to top of mind, but Moe shows us how we can all support conservation with our own unique talents. Need help finding yours? Take our new quiz to match your interests with a volunteering opportunity!
